活动四:Think it over

(1)教师结合学生的实际情况介绍2件事情,让学生理解bad news和good news及形容词的比较级、一般过去时等知识。例:I have two pieces of news for you. One is good, the other one is bad. Which one do you want to listen first?
(2)板书bad news和good news,介绍说:Bad news: Yesterday afternoon, Mike went home. On his way home, he was sad because he couldn’t do his homework. It was so difficult for him. He wasn’t carefully then he fell down. His leg hurts. He was sad. Good news: At that time, Jack saw him and carried him to his house. And he helped with his homework. He was happy.

(1)教师请学生讲关于自己的几条bad news,然后鼓励全班同学大胆设想,把bad news变成good news.
如:S1: It will be rainy tomorrow. I can’t go to the park with my parents.
S2: You can stay at home and play cards with your parents.

S4: You can listen to the rhythm of the rain.
(2)教师鼓励学生创造性地表达,并告诉学生:一切事物都有两面,好事会变坏,坏事会变好。很多时候只要调整好心态,自己就会很开心,积极地去面对每一件事。
活动六:Read and answer
教学参考时间:3分钟
(1)教师继续关于bad news的谈话,呈现课文中的第一幅图片,请学生用一句话或几句话描述图片内容,引出Mike lost his backpack.的故事。
(2)提出问题:What happened next? How did a bad thing turn into a good thing? 学生阅读短文后尝试回答问题。
(3)播放Read and answer部分的录音,学生静听两遍后完成Read and tick or cross部分的练习。
(4)学生再阅读课文,读后说说自己不理解不会读的词或句,教师答疑。
(5)如学生没有问题,教师提出问题,就I was excited about the trip. The driver was gone. The third backpack looked like mine. I was so excited to see the taxi drive again.提出问题,引起学生对be gone, look like的进一步理解,并比较分别含有excited两句的异同。

教师播放歌曲“I went on a Holiday”的录音或VCD,讲解歌词大意,学生跟唱。

教师朗读一段课文,其中故意漏词或加词,让学生当医生,找出错处并记录下来,比一比谁的耳朵最尖,可以根据学生反应适当加快语速。
活动九:Play chess

学生以下棋的形式练习句子,棋子的每一格都有一个单词,棋盘的方格中抄写本课书中出现的动词过去式,如:was, went, ran, gone, wanted, waited,…。学生走到一格就要说一个句子,最先到达终点者获胜。

1.教师让学生两人一组练习看图讲讲Mike 的故事,两人分别讲述Mike’s good news and his bad news.
